UNITARIANS

Welcome to our website telling you all about who we are and when we meet. You will also find on this site pages about Weddings and Blessings Services able to be conducted in our Chapel. One page also gives helpful sugestions for receptions in our Hibbert Room. Then there are pages that tell you about our History and groups that are part of the religious unitarian family when they meet and what they do. All are welcome to come along and join any of our meetings or groups at the Chapel.

Although under review, at present our small congregation has its main meetings on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month at 11am. We may shortly change this to 6pm every Sunday as Parking is difficult at 11am in Lewes Town.

With its historical roots in the Jewish and Christan traditions, Unitarians are a liberal religion that is, a religion that keeps an open mind to the religious questions people have struggled with in all times and places. We believe that personal experience, conscience and reason should be the final authorities in religion, and that in the end religious authority lies not in a book or person or institution, but in ourselves. We are a "non-creedal" religion: we do not ask anyone to ascribe to a creed.
